News \ Call of Duty 2009 May Just Have A Sci-Fi Twist

As seen in here www.mywii.com.au/ Activision are planning on releasing a new Call of Duty title in 2009. However it seems like Treyarch who are working on Call of Duty: World at War may not be behind this game but instead Infinity Ward.

Infinity Ward were the ones behind Call of Duty 4 which proved to be quite a hit, but didn't hit the Nintendo Wii. However Infinity Ward have signed on with Activision to work a unspecified project that is said to have a sci-fi twist to it which just could be Call of Duty 6.

We have had modern day and past day Call of Duties but how would you feel with a futuristic one?

it will sell cause it has COD in the title.. just as battlefield 2142 did.. personally if scifi is the case im stopping at cod 5.. unless they return to ww2 or modern in 2010 for cod 7 if the series lives that long.

This news at first made me say a rather loud "aw f***" but then I had a think about it and remembered that a certain game changed my mind about sci-fi FPS: Perfect Dark. Followed by Half-Life. So I guess if its in the hands of extremely talented studios such as what Rare used to be, Valve and Infinity Ward this could be amazing.

I'd love to see an expansion for COD4 though, that game was criminally short for how good it was.
