He's only 37 years old Sakurai has created what is one of the best and most anticipated games of all time. He brought the world Kirby when he was only 17 creating one of Nintendo's most popular icons. Then in 1999 he released Smash Bros. for the N64 being one of the N64's biggest hits. Later, Melee came out being the best selling gamecube game. After a long amount of waiting he released Brawl.

The idea for Smash Bros. came along when Hal Labrotories wanted to make a fighting game. Then they looked at other fighting games and Nintendo propreties and mashed them together. So they took a star or stars from Mario, Zelda, Kirby, Pokemon, Star Fox, Metroid and mabny others altogether to duke it out. Thet thought it wouldn't sell well but it turned out to be a success and one of Nintendo's best series.

They added 4 control methods so any player could find a control style to their taste. Not to mention you can alter the controls as well. Although they, didn't add motion controls because they although it would fit horribley so the just added shake smash.

He gained his love of video games bye playing 1 pong-style game and was amazed on how it worked. Then he joined Nintendo. So he wanted to make a game with characters and music that was meorable.

The only major tweaks were final smashs, thrird-party characters, multiple control methods and a bit of a faster pace or so he says.

When deceiding the final roster there were some descions to be made. They wanted to keep a good balance of characters. They wanted to make sure they didn't add to much characters from a certain franchise like mario or pokemon. They also looked at new franchise like Nintendogs and Animal crossing and characters like those aren't really suited to fight. They also had trouble adding new characters from new franchises. Most of the new characters are from exisiting series in melee.

The main reason they added Sonic was because they surveyed fans asking them who they wanted the most for a new character and most of them answered Sonic. so they added him do to popular demand.
