Guides \ Converting Videos for Wii
Here's the guide for Converting videos for Wii guys.
Ok first up download Wii Video 9 and install it.
When you run the program this is what you'll see.
Open the Settings tab highlighted by the red circle
In the new screen look at Circle 1.
- In devices you can select either Wii or PS3.
- In process priority if you select highest that does not mean that it will be fastest conversion in all cases. This just means
that it will reserve maximum system resources for the conversion. I.E. Ram and processing power.
- Ensure that the Wii profile is selected.
Now Circle 3.
- Hit the Save Settings button so that in the future you dont have to mess around in this section.
Now Click on the Convert Tab.
From now on when ever you open the program you can come straight here instead of doing all the settings junk. Now hit the "One-Click Convert" button. Select the file which you want to convert. I found this program can convert almost any type of file except real media I think.
Now the program will start converting your file. Once completed just go to the Output directory to find a new file there. Just copy that to your SD card and you're set to play video on your wii.

Advanced Settings:
In the Convert tab go to profiles for advanced settings.
Look at the Circled parts from left to right:
- Notice Bitrate, If you lower bitrate you will get a smaller file but video will not be as good quality and be a little choppy.
- I suggest keep the Framerate as Input or else you will more than likely run into audio/video sync problems where the audio is out of sync with the video.
- If you lower resolution your video will be smaller size but it'll suffer quality loss and pixelation.
- I also suggest not to muck around with the Audio tab but in general lowering the Sample Rate will lower quality and filesize.
You can create a new profile in this section with your preferences and save it so that next time you run the program you can go into the profiles and select your custom profile to use for converting.
