They wont do it right. Game designers usually look at a game and think "wouldnt it be cool if..." without understanding what makes the game worked and why it wasnt in the original game.
Thats why Mario Kart post Shigeru Myamoto has 1000 item blocks every lap, unbalanced items, and rubber banding.
Golden Eye worked because it didnt have a jump. Trying to jump in first person mode is crap. If I recall, the very next bond game featured a jump and falling off platforms.
