House Of The Dead Overkill: Bang Bang Box
So Tano and I were sitting around the office, planning the next podcast when a package arrived in the mailroom. "What could it be" I uttered as I raced forth. We wrestled, we argued and eventually it was set over a game of Fusball, and as fate would have it I was the one who would get to open it up. Never did we expect such beauty to be inside of this Express Post bag, it was like an icy cold beer on a hot summers day, a beautiful sunset, the holy grail. We had the House of The Dead Overkill - Bang Bang Pack.
The Bang Bang Pack comes in a stylish box packed to the brim with some of the best Collectors Edition merchandise one can expect from a title these days. No cop outs from Sega, this bad boy boasts a prelude graphic novel spanning over 30 pages, deluxe packaging of the game and the greatest feature, two custom made “Hand Cannons” for your Wii-Motes to blast your way through the intense game that is awaiting before you. These have been made as exact replicas of Agent G’s weapons from the game, and it truly changes the gameplay experience and offers a real authentic arcade feel.
Surprisingly the 30+ page graphic novel that compliments the Bang Bang pack provides an enjoyable and indepth look at two of the characters featured in Overkill, Miss Varla Guns and Mr. Issac Washington. It features an authentic graphic novel style very reminiscent of Frank Miller's Sin City, and flesh's out the back story of Varla giving us a look into what brought the two characters together. Issac's potty mouth isn't restricted to the voice acting inside the game, this certainly is not reccomended for children to be reading. Black and white laced with bright red gore creates a familliar, yet still stylish contrast.
The "Hand Cannons" are simply beautiful. Modelled expertly after Agent G's Hand Cannons from the game, they feature a snug and well weighted housing for your Wii-mote. By hitting the release lock, the hammer section of the gun pops up, allowing you to slide in the remote. Lock down that hammer, and clip over the sights at the end of the gun and the remote is going nowhere. Offering an authentic arcade experience, the "Hand Cannons" are the ultimate way to expereince House Of The Dead: Overkill.
There is no doubt Sega have gone above and beyond to give you bang bang for buck with this expertly crafted, and fulfilling collectors edition of a fantastic title for the Nintendo Wii. The bang bang pack is in limited circulation, so if you can get you hands on one, it's well worth the money.
