Welcome to the MyMedia Around the Network feature! Some of you may remember this as the MyMedia Community Update, and it is essentially the same thing with an emphasis on type of content rather than each site.
This will be published each Monday afternoon/evening to keep you up to date with everything that has happened across MyMedia in the past 7 days. We'll also update you on what is planned for the week ahead.

Punch Out!! Review
A taste
Punch Out!! (Mike Tyson’s Punch Out!! depending where and when you got the title) has often been cited as one of the elite games released on the NES console in the eighties. Its comical characters, challenging gameplay and continual reference in pop-culture of today has cemented it as an all time classic title. There was an equally praised sequel on the SNES back in 1994, but since then the series has lay dormant. This year we have been graced with Punch Out!! for our waggling wii-motes, but does it do the series justice?

Wolfenstein Review
A taste
Wolfenstein 3D is often considered to be the “godfather of first-person shooters”. It shipped 17 years ago and is still considered to be one of the pioneers of the genre, even ahead of Half-Life and Doom. It had a distinctive charm about it that has thankfully been carried over into the latest Wolfenstein adventure, albeit among some minor issues that ultimately bring down the gameplay and overall experience. In an era of Inglourious Basterds and the Call of Duty, where does this latest Wolfsentein offering line up amongst the frontline of other war shooters?

District 9 Review
A taste
Originality is rare in this day and age of sequels, remakes and tried and tested Hollywood formulas. District 9 marks the directorial debut of Neill Blomkamp, protégé of Peter Jackson, who has developed one of the best sci-fi films of the decade. To be honest I hadn’t heard a thing about District 9 before I went to see it; being the curious movie buff that I am, this is a rare feat for me. With little background knowledge about the unknown director and cast, District 9 absolutely blew me away. Combining great character development and impressive CG effects with science fiction and references to the unstable, corrupt, political state of South Africa District 9 is more than a typical sci-fi action flick.

PS3 Slim vs PS3 Phat
About:
While Sony has refused to label its latest model of the Playstation 3 officially "Slim" as they did with the last PS2 model, a quick glance at the new hardware's specs and size will make you subconsciously refer to the system as the PS3 Slim anyway. While it's not overly "slim" per say (it's roughly just as deep as the current PS3 model) it is considerably smaller in height and width, as well as weight at 1.5kg lighter.

Medals
DIY Members Medals [September]
Info
What we are doing here is allowing members to create a medal of their own choosing and set it up just like an admin would.
Here's how it will work, at the beginning of the month we'll start accepting your medal submissions, and the best submission will be run at the end of the month for every body to try and earn one just as if it were a medal run by an admin.
Don't think this is like some medal suggestion thread, it's more than that it's basically another way to contribute to the site similar to submitting news, reviews etc. You will be competing against everyone else you you'll have to put in the extra effort to make your medal stand out.
